Established in 1836, the present building was 100 years old in 2011. It is situated overlooking the Loughor Estuary, and more than one person has rated this Church as one of the finest buildings in the Presbyterian Church of Wales.

In its vision ‘to make the church known’, the church holds a Sunday morning service, and a weekly Bible Study and Prayer Meeting 13:30 on a Tuesday, and occasional House Group Meetings and Christianity Explored Courses.

Tabernacle is part of the Gower Pastorate which encompasses Cheriton, Old Walls, Burry Green and Crofty.
