The Presbyterian Church of Wales wish to express their sympathy with all staff, pupils and families at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman and the wider community following the troubling event which took place there on Wednesday.

In a meeting of the Church and Society Department of the Church the following morning, it was resolved to offer practical help and spiritual support to any that would desire it by way of offering the support of our workers and centres.

Solving the circumstances behind crimes involving knives requires the input and support of society as a whole. We continue to raise our voice and to work as a Church towards promoting peace and reconciliation in our communities as we are well aware that knife violence is not the concern of other countries, but our concern here too.

We will continue to lift up all those affected by this sad event in our prayers.
