Award Winning Arts Centre Launches Major New Exhibition
Parc Arts, an award winning arts centre in Pontypridd, is launching an exhibition of photography and fabric art on Thursday 21 May at Princess Street Treforest. This major new exhibition comes hot on the heels of Parc Arts winning the 2025 Quality Business Awards for the Best Arts Venue in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
The exhibition is called Nature in Fabric and Frame. In fact, it’s a dual exhibition of photography and fabric art by Shirley Doyle & Vaisey Bramley.
Vaisey has a long standing passion for landscape and wildlife photography. A local self taught photographer, Vaisey has gained knowledge and skills both in photographic technique but also Nature, learning to ID wildlife and learning the animals feeding habits, breeding cycles and characteristics. Shirley Doyle brings a quality of play and exploration to her work with fabrics. Exploring local flora and fauna, considering arrangements, playing with colour and taking risks. Shirley’s creations reflect nature in a gentle expressive way.
Nate Orr, a team member at Parc Arts said: ‘ In both art there is a gentleness, an openness, an invitation to stop and experience nature. Slowing everything down, sitting in a hide or riverside for the perfect photograph; wrapping up silk, setting it in dye with leaves and flowers, and just waiting for what it will become.
The Nature in Fabric and Frame exhibition runs from 21 May to 5 June at Parc Arts, 2 Princess St, Treforest, Pontypridd CF37 1RY For full open times and events please see the website www.parcarts.cymru or visit their social media @Parc Arts.
