Dear friends,

With the National Eisteddfod (1-8 Aug) just around the corner, the Christian Aid Wales team are preparing to welcome visitors in Garreg Glas, at the Cytûn Tent on the Maes. If you are visiting the Eisteddfod we’d love to see you! In the meantime, here’s a quick summary of what’s coming up in the coming months. If you are planning something for the Autumn, please do get in touch.

Harvest of Hope: This autumn, we invite you to hear from Anok in South Sudan and others like her, facing a daily struggle to feed their families. We have some lovely resources for your church, including an Order of Service and a recipe card for delicious Okra Soup—as well as lots of ideas for harvest activities to engage your church and community. Harvest Appeal 2026 | Christian Aid

Back to School: What were your hopes and dreams when you were at school? Here in the UK, children and teachers are looking forward to returning to school in September, while millions of children around the world are being deprived of education and their dreams for the future due to a lack of access to schooling caused by the global debt crisis. Join us in calling for new debt legislation, so that more children can access education and reach their potential.  Restore MP Resources – Christian Aid

Time to Act: Tuesday, 4th August, Cytûn Tent – Christian Aid is part of The Just Peace Coalition which brings together churches and Christian movements across the UK to respond to the call from Palestinian Christians for the global church to respond not with silence or despair, but with courage, compassion, and action. Join us to find out how your church can get involved. Home – Just Peace Coalition

Other events:

  • Eisteddfod 2026 Peace Vigil – Remembering the victims of all wars at 6pm
  • Sunday evening, 2nd August, 6pm
  • The Sculpture Garden

We do hope you will call in and see us at the Cytûn tent on the Maes. If not – it’d be great to hear how things are going at your church and if I can support you in anyway.
