We’ll hear from Janet Ngombale, Christian Aid’s Programme Officer in Kenya, and Jane Wathome, the Founding Director of our partner Beacon of Hope in Nairobi that will feature in this year’s Christian Aid Week Appeal, 10-17 May.
This year’s Christian Aid Week appeal will focus on the experience of mothers who are locked in a daily struggle to nourish their hungry children, as the climate crisis disrupts food supply ac forces up food prices pushing them beyond the means of many households. Through an inspiring initiative, Imarisha Kilimo (‘strengthen agriculture’ in Swahili), Christian Aid is helping families in the urban communities of Nairobi to establish gardens, build sustainable livelihoods and grow nutritious food to tackle the relentless stress of urban poverty.
Join us for a special morning of conversation and inspiring stories with Janet and Jane during their short visit to Wales. We’ll share a snapshot of Christian Aid’s humanitarian world around the work and current campaigns, explore creative fundraising ideas, and learn how, together, we can make a lasting impact in the fight against poverty.
