Christian Aid Week – 10-16 May 2026
Christian Aid Week is nearly here! Please can we ask you to join with us and flood your different denominational comms channels over the next 3 weeks with Christian Aid Week and all the stories of hope that come along with it?
Churches and schools across Wales have been preparing, ordering resources, lining up events, with many fundraising challenges are already underway. Including my own family’s 70k in May challenge (sharing an example of our new online platform/E-envelope and for inspiration…).
For us in Wales, Christian Aid Week comes just days after the Senedd Elections. It’s an important moment for us in Wales to share with our communities and new MSs about the hope we have and the calling on our lives to act faithfully for justice and end to poverty. During Christian Aid Week thousands of wonderful and hopeful acts are led by volunteers, churches, schools, communities, families and individuals who choose to put their faith into action – they walk, run, bake, dance, skip, and do whatever it takes – to help bring about lasting change. It’s a powerful moment of faith and action which helps families survive poverty and violence and supports communities to rebuild after crisis.
This year’s appeal is all about urban poverty and the crippling impact of global debt. We are sharing stories from Nairobi where families in the city have been growing fruit and vegetables in whatever tiny spaces they can find, from alleyways to rooftops. The innovation behind this urban garden project means parents are able to give their families more nutritious meals, as well as selling produce and saving money to send their children to school.
We’d love to encourage as many churches in Wales to do something this Christian Aid Week, however big or small. Every action is like a mustard seed and will make a huge difference.

Your faith. Make it count.
7 days to make a difference – what will you do?
Here are a three easy steps your church could take to get involved in Christian Aid Week 2026:
Create an E-envelope and hold a collection.
Join us in prayer on Sunday 10th May and Sunday 17th May, by using the bilingual order of service, all age talk and films and sharing stories of hope from Kenya.
Build Christian Aid Week into coffee mornings and other regular events you have coming up, with editable bilingual posters and resources online to share with your community.
What can you do as denominational/ministry teams/in the office this Christian Aid Week?
Create an E-envelope (the famous red envelope goes digital!) – this can be personalised and easily shared via What’s App etc, and includes a bilingual banner.
Join the 70k in May challenge as a church or team – strength in numbers!
Hold a coffee morning and quiz in the office – perhaps some Kenyan Fair Trade tea and coffee?
