Children’s Weekend, Coleg y Bala                           

 

This is an invitation for your child / children to attend Coleg y Bala’s “Children’s Weekend” between the 14-15th of June 2024! Here is some more information about what will happen on the weekend and about the Coleg itself.

The weekend is for children aged 8-11. There will be a full programme of activities, crazy games, plenty of time to relax and play computer games, pool, air hockey, table tennis, lively sessions looking at the Christian faith, a chocolate fountain and plenty of craft and sports.

‘Coleg y Bala’ is a Children and Youth Centre that’s been run by the Presbyterian Church of Wales for over 50 years. As well as Coleg staff there will be other experienced leaders as well as young leaders helping over the weekend; the Coleg will ensure that all necessary checks have been made.

Course Cost:       £49 (includes all activities, food and accommodation)
or £24.50 for a second / third child from the same family.

Date:                     14-15 June 2024 (5.30pm-5.30pm)

Eating at Coleg y Bala? We serve three meals a day (Breakfast, lunch and supper) with a different menu for vegetarians. If your child has any dietary needs or allergies, please state this on the registration form and we can ensure that they are suitably catered for.

Where will my child sleep? All children sleep in dorm bedrooms. It is possible to share a bedroom with friends if this is noted beforehand. We ensure that all children are aware of the location of nearby staff rooms.

Child safety? We are implementing these steps to ensure safety during residential courses
• Staff on duty- One of the Coleg team is on call all night.
• First Aid – Qualified staff and first aid on all activities, as well as day and night staff.
• Registration Form – An opportunity for parents to disclose any special needs / problems
• Fire Safety – A fire drill is held regularly at the Coleg
• Risk Assessments for each activity
• A full time officer responsible for Health and Safety
