Conwy and Dyfrdwy Presbytery calling for a just peace in the Middle East
The Presbytery of Conwy and Dyfrdwy, part of the Presbyterian Church of Wales, is calling on the British governments to seek a just peace in the Middle East.
The situation is going from bad to worse and is a matter of great concern. The life of ordinary people in the Gaza Strip is now horrific. Hundreds of thousands have lost their homes and have nowhere to flee. Furthermore, blocking humanitarian aid means they are without food or water for days.
To ensure that there is no further disaster of many more thousands losing their lives, we are calling on the British Governments to do everything possible to seek peace and justice in the region.
We need:
• an urgent ceasefire in order to save the lives of innocent people
• assurances that humanitarian aid gets to the needy without hindrance
• to apply pressure to ensure that the hostages who are held captive are released, and
• do everything possible to promote the process of seeking a just and lasting peace in the region
O Lord, we pray for world peace.
