Women’s Mission Rally
On May 4th, a good number traveled to Jerusalem, Bethesda United Church. Lead by Llinos Morris and Mererid Mair, we had a clear picture of the work that is happening at Noddfa Church, Caernarfon. With the help of Ben and Nain, two cheerful puppets, it was easy to understand how Noddfa can get out and open the door to all ages of this close community. During the evening service, Professor Mari Lloyd Williams highlighting the need for the elderly attending Capel Waengoleugoed Day Care. The Chapel offers company, love, care and a meal for many people who face solitude daily.
We were warmly welcomed again at Morfa Chapel, Kidwelly on May 19th, with the two speakers talking about their experiences, one in Casia Hills and the other on the streets of Swansea. Reverend Gwenda Richards visited India during the General Assembly and she showed pictures on the screen of how the history of the Church was established in India, a memorial that included the names of all the Welsh ambassadors and a visit to H. Gordon Roberts Hospital in Shillong. Reverend Jill-Hailey Harries talked of the Street Pastors’ work. She explained how the shepherds were always on hand to lend an ear and respond with words of comfort or advice.
