RECONCILIATION AND PEACE

‘That God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.’ 2 Cor 5:19

Oh Lord our God, the Holy Trinity, thank you for the work of Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, for reconciling the world through the cross, and for his triumphant resurrection. He took away all the condemnation so that we might be reconciled people in your service. But the world is full of violence and hatred, war and disharmony and there is a great need for reconciliation between peoples and tribes, in families, among religions, between denominations, churches and christians.

Have mercy on us and hear our prayer as we plead for you to act mightily in the situations where history, prejudice and racial discrimination disrupt the life of society – let alone injustice and infection – and cause fear, despair, poverty, violence and war. Look gently at your world and act through your Spirit in the hearts of the leaders of the nations to demand peace and reconciliation: we present to you the nations of Africa, the Middle East and our country with its problems. Thank you for Trefeca being a spiritual center and place of prayer for the whole world.

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred let me bring your love
Where there is injury, your pardon Lord, And where there is doubt true faith in You

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is despair in life let me bring hope
Where there is darkness only light, And where there’s sadness ever joy

Make me a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
It is in giving to all men that we receive. And in dying that we are born to eternal life
